CTS Cement Komponent®
Additive for Non-Shrink and Low-Shrinkage Concrete
When incorporated into a concrete mix design, Komponent® can reduce or eliminate shrinkage cracking in concrete, and reduce the number of joints in the slab. Applications include bridge decks, parking structures, slabs on grade, and containment tanks. Komponent® should be strongly considered whenever Type-K Cement is specified in a project, as it is often a more cost-efficient option.
CTS Komponent® is NOT a shrinkage-reducing admixture (SRA). It is an expansive cement which when added to regular portland cement, produces ASTM C845 Type-K Cement. Typically, about 100 lbs. of Komponent® are used per cubic yard of concrete to meet the requirements of ASTM C845 Type-K Cement.
